Francisco José Valero Castells

Francisco José Valero Castells studies in the Superior School of Music in Valencia with Mr. Francisco Salanova. He obtained the End of Grade and Degree Prizes in Musical Theory and Oboe, the Prize Mercedes Massí, and the Santiago Lope scholarship. Also, the Second Prize in the National Juvenile Musical competition in Spain, for which he was invited to perform on TVE. At this conservatory he also obtained the Degrees of Solfege, theory and repentization of music, Piano, Choir Conducting and Composition. Subsequently, he has furthered his studies with professors Th. Indhermühle, L. Koch, J. de Lancie, P. Dombrecht, L. Coppola, M. Hernández Silva, A. Lucía Frega, Y. Nommick, among others.

He was first oboe in the Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, the Chamber Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, the Instrumental Chamber of Murcia, the Symphonic Orchestra of Region of Murcia, the Young National Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), the Orchestras of the Superior Musical Schools of Valencia and Murcia, and he has played with the Municipal Orchestra of Valencia, RTVE, OCG, Córdoba and Elche Orchestras, the “Virtuosos” from Moscow , the Beethovenhall of Bonn, OBC, OSPA and OST.

He has recorded with the Chamber Orchestra of Murcia, JONDE, Chamber Orchestra and the University Choir of Murcia, Symphonic Orchestra of Murcia and the group Concertus Novo.

He is a founding member of chamber groups, such as, Quinteto Ictus, Concertus Novo, Tetragrama, Ars Arundinis, Areté, Harmonie-XXI and MúVyN.

His works have been performed in the Auditorium and Congresses Centre of Murcia, National Auditorium, Zaragoza Auditorium, José Agüera Auditorium of the Music Superior School of Murcia, Musical Palace of Valencia and SGAE Auditorium. He is a member of the SGAE, COSICOVA and Valencian Music Academy.

He is Oboe Professor by competitive examination since 1989 at the Superior School of Music of Murcia, where he also held the functions of Head of Studies from 1999 to 2002 and Secretary the 2019-2020 academic year.
