Frank J. Cogollos
Born in Carcaixent (Valencia) in 1977, he has a degree in Musical Direction, specialized in Wind Orchestra from the Royal Schools of Music in London.
He is a Teacher of Primary and Musical Education from the University of Valencia. He obtained the title of Elementary Violin Degree and Professor of Percussion at the Mestre Vert Conservatory.
In 1999, he obtained the first place in the Balearic Islands in the competitive examinations for the body of Teachers of Musical Education. He is currently studying composition with teachers Saül Gómez Soler and Josep Miquel Martínez.
He has been a percussion teacher at the Music Schools of La Pobla Llarga, Carcaixent, Eivissa, Sant Antoni de Portmany and Santa Eulalia.He has been part of different groups such as the Carcaixent Conservatory Orchestra, the “Lira Carcaixentina” Symphonic Band, the Ibiza Municipal Music Band, the Sta. Eulalia Municipal Band and the Ibiza Town Symphony Orchestra. He has been a violinist for the group “Projecte Mut”, with which he has recorded 6 albums and as a conductor he has recorded the album Ressonadors Simfònic.
He has been the Director of the Ibiza Youth Band, the group “Tumbuka Percussió” and the Encant Ades Choir. He is currently the director of the Sant Antoni de Portmany Music Band. He is a member of the National Association of Band Directors of Spain. As Guest Conductor, he has performed concerts with the Municipal Band of Ibiza, the Carcaixentina Symphonic Band of Carcaixent, the Santa Eulària Municipal Band, the Ibiza Symphony Orchestra, the Santander Municipal Band, the Estepona Municipal Band and the SMRO Youth Orchestra of Óbidos (Portugal). He has been Assistant Director of Salvador Brotons in the Ibiza Youth Orchestra.
As a composer, he has a total of 35 awards in different composition competitions in Galicia, Almería, Alzira, Segorbe, Benimaclet, Montoro, Xàtiva and Redován among others. He has recently won the Distinction at the Warsaw Wind Ensemble Composition Contest 2020 in Warsaw (Poland), a Bronze Medal at the Global Music Awards (USA), a Gold Medal at the Quebec Music Competition (Canada) and The Akademia Music Awards in Los Angeles (USA). His works will be released soon in countries such as Thailand, Argentina, Poland, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Chile, Italy and the US.
His works can be found published in the publishers Tot per l’aire, Edicions 96, Branfor and Harold editions.
