DOS ESTUDIS PER A MARIMBA

Marimba solo

These two studies were the result of 3 months of closure in 2020 (mandatory), due to the pandemic, that no one expected. Completed in 2024, they are designed for students at the end of the professional studies and the beginning of higher percussion education. The first of the studies is written with a certainly strange rhythm, but that walks and evolves through a melodic left hand, and a main voice (right hand), that blurs with the colourful harmonies that make up the piece. On the other hand, the second study is based on the Latin hymn Dies Irae (13th century), transformed and transported at the same time as camouflaged through the use of polyrhythms based on the language and work of one of the composers that I have worked on the most in recent years: Louis Franz Aguirre.
