Snare Drum

The piece is inspired by the times when an organized system of rythmic patterns were used to communicate in war contexts. Percussion was the perfect tool for it, specially the snare drum.

It served to send messages to the warriors with the tactical dispositions of their commanders located at a distance, or to announce to a community the proximity of the enemy, even the presence in barracks or military installations (some of them included in the piece).

Sadly, communication and empathy between us is even more complicated nowadays and we still live in a word full of wars, more and more powerful. This piece proposes a reflection on this topic.

Hopefully, armies are not needed someday soon.
