Composition commissioned by the Blasorchester Siebnen (Switzerland) on the 10th anniversary of its conductor Mr. Blaise Héritier.

Work composed in seven movements. They can be interpreted separately, combined, or in the following order: I-II, III, (I-II-III), IV-V-VI, VII.

This is a particular insight into part of Swiss history centered on the Einsiedeln Abbey, being its movements:

I- The Forest.

Colors, ligths, feelings finding a starting undefined theme until it takes form. It’s the begin of a story, the story of a Country.

II- Saint Meinrad.

An only person in the forest looking for his place, helping others, but finally killed by thieves.

III- The Abbey.

In honor to this good person, people wanted to build an abbey. A classical theme based on the leitmotif of the Einsiedeln’s Salve Regina is the contruction of the abbey. Finally, the abbey theme is exposed in the last part of the movement with the sober theme Salve Regina in a chorus form.

IV- Waldleute.

The heart of a country: their people. A festive theme will represent the friendly character of its people.

V- Einsiedeln.

The place of people. A quiet beginning showing the foundation of the city, mixing the waldleute and abbey themes.

VI- Rütlischwur.

The agreement between the first three cantons and the beginning of the Nation. Three themes of the conversations/negotiations for the agreement.

VII- Morgarten.

The battle the farmers won and the founding of a feared army. Variation of a Leopold theme against Abbey, Waldleute, Rütlishwur themes, and developing them until Waldleute ended as the main theme.
