The title of the piece, Reassons de Xarq (Xarq ecos) refers to the eastern region of Al-Andalus, Xarq-al-Andalus, also known as Xarquia

The piece is divided into three movements that are played without interruption: Algaida (sandbanks)- Mahual-Insiraf (exit).

Organization and choice of the different parameters are determined by associated fields (memories) of some known elements of Arabic music. For example: the maqam Nakriz, Malfouf rhythms, Aufar (accompanying to the hurn solo in Mahual) and Samai (at the end).

This piece does not represent any formal structure known on the Arabic culture, although it could be similar to the nuba’s (installation- prolongation-last stage-exit and end).

All these, together with other four elements, are materials used to elaborate the sonorous speech of this piece. It is an historic perspective that creates a temporal horizon, with the intention to rehabilitate the memories role.
