The claxon's sound is a common element in the big city and reflects a traffic jam, a celebration, warning, discontent, traffic busy or simply a routine. There are many types, in unison, with harmonics, pneumatic, trumpet, disk... but the curious thing is that they are easily recognizable and distinguishable, although the frequency, apart from being infinite and consistent, is random, that is, pure chance.
It is the rhythm and timbre that make the difference in atmosphere between one city and another one. But minor third harmonic intervals and augmented 5th triads by overlapping major thirds are a common element. And also the seconds.
The work was commissioned bySociedad Musical "La Artística" of Buñol (Valencia, Spain) for its premiere at the MANO A MANO of Buñol in 2023.
