Hidden Face is inspired by Servando Castelló to whom this work is also dedicated. The title refers to the image with which Servando (Low Battery Man) is known. Servando is ill with Myalgic Encephaliomyelitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and has undertaken different initiatives to give visibility to the disease and raise funds for his research. Initiatives in some cases that put their own health at risk by helping others so that the person behind Low Battery Man is an inspiring and hopeful figure. The work aims to reflect on the internal chaos, the restlessness and the misunderstanding faced by CFS patients through an abrupt and intense discourse that alternates moments of total inactivity. The sound material is part of the acronym for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) that translated to sound represent the musical symbols F, C, B, F = Flat and S = Shar), so all the harmonic, melodic and contrapuntal material takes as reference these six sounds F, Fb, F#, C, Cb, C#. CFS is a complex disabling disease and manifests itself as an overwhelming fatigue that does not improve with rest and that also leads to other symptoms such as problems sleeping, thinking and concentrating, pain and dizziness, digestive, circulatory and cardiac problems, often confining the sick to bed for long periods of time. Hidden Face is not only a reflection on this disease. Hidden Face is a tribute to all those people who suffer the confusion and misunderstanding of an environment that does not understand them. Hidden Face is a recognition to all those people who, far from falling into despair, put their lives at the service of others and fight to change things. Hidden Face, is the hidden face of those difficult circumstances that make the human being make the best of himself. In short, Hidden Face is a song of hope placed in research and science, which will one day find the cure for this terrible disease.
